Like their last CD, Root Doctor, they look below the Mason Dixon for musical direction. The South has become a sound as much as a place. This one is a little darker than the last one. Murder ballads, drunken frolics, work & love of land, trains & ramblin’ get covered. They try to be a voice of the folks who struggle everyday. This is roots music grounded in tradition. While we have no interest in returning to the old ways, sometimes you have to look behind you to move forward.
